Student Development Theory The Personal Responsibility...

On student development, there are theories which I can apply in order to fully understand how students develop in high education settings. The following are theories I would apply. Moral development theory: the theory shows the personal responsibility of students. Students require moral development and they should face moral issues and they should use ethical solutions in response to issues they face in life (Sjà ¸lie, 2014). They must differentiate between right and wrong in their life to maintain the ethical standards. Development ecology theory: The theory assists to understand the college environment and resources needed to impact growth (Schuh et al, 2011). Personal environmental theory: the theory is effective because it helps to understand personality in varied environment. Also, knowing the personalities helps to understand different characteristic. For example, personality such as realistic could assist to provide the students with tools and objects in the activities. In addition, some students may be social and it is possible to give them the opportunity to interact with others in social activities (Patton et al, 2016). Theories to exclude Critical race theory: The theory focuses on Western tradition and the radical multiculturalism in higher education, and it fails to bring mutual understanding (Price, 2010). The main goal of this theory is to set the democratic community and causing color blindness.
